About Me as a Human…

When I am not in therapy-land, you can find me:

When I'm not in therapy-land, you’ll probably find me lost in my thought land—taking time to reflect, unwind, and decompress from the week. I value moments of introspection and use them to recharge so I can bring my best self to both my personal and professional life. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family, partner, and our two beloved dogs, whether it’s exploring new hiking trails, discovering scenic camping spots, or simply taking spontaneous detours during our regular walks.

Self Care:

For self-care, I take time to reflect and unwind, often by walking my dogs to clear my mind. I also prioritize spending time with loved ones, as it keeps me grounded and allows me to reconnect. Listening to audiobooks and podcasts that explore psychology, personal growth, and research helps me stay inspired in my work.

For Fun:

I like diving into a good book or unwinding with a video game, TV show, movie, or anime. I’m drawn to content that explores deep themes and offers compelling storytelling, as it inspires me and teaches me something new.

For Growth:

I am always eager to learn, whether it's through professional training, personal research, or simply listening to others' experiences. Staying curious helps me expand my knowledge and stay engaged with my work. I also enjoy learning from history, psychology, and finance, as they provide insight into human behaviour and decision-making.

Something unique about me is:

My straightforward nature! My approach initially surprises many clients, as it can differ from their expectations of traditional therapy lingo. However, this openness often helps them feel more comfortable and at ease. Keeping things clear and relatable, I aim to demystify the therapy process and create a safe space.

What are your academic credentials?

I graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2019 with a BA in Psychology. I have also completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, where I deepened my understanding of different counselling approaches and developed the skills to support clients in meaningful ways.

Before I was in the mental health field, I was doing/working in / volunteering at:

I worked as a practicum student therapist, gaining invaluable experience with diverse populations. This allowed me to witness the incredible resilience of the human spirit and deepened my passion for supporting others in their journeys toward growth.

The most impactful thing about my experience here was:

Realizing the strength that arises through inclusivity and streamlined, evidence-based therapy.

Three things you are currently obsessed with and why:

  1. History – I love learning about human nature and evolution—it’s fascinating to see how our past shapes who we are today.
  2. Cooking Shows – I’ve been diving into cooking shows to improve my skills in the kitchen and experiment with new recipes—though most of my successes so far have been accidental.
  3. Finance and Stocks – I’m just starting to learn about finance and the stock market. It’s been exciting to explore how it all works and to pick up new tips along the way.

The most helpful book I have read is:

Atomic Habits by James Clear

My biggest takeaway from it was:

It offers practical and actionable advice on how small changes can lead to big results over time. I found it inspiring and insightful, especially in understanding how habits shape our daily lives.

The most interesting article or book I have read is:

Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill

Because:

Written as an interview with the Devil, it explores the power of fear, self-doubt, and procrastination, offering unique insights into how we can overcome these barriers to live a more fulfilling life.

My favourite podcast is:

I don’t have a favourite podcast yet, but I’m always looking for recommendations! If you have a favourite that you think I’d enjoy—especially one about psychology, personal growth, or storytelling—I’d love to hear about it.
