Why did you decide to become a therapist?

From a young age, I've been intrigued by the complexity of human behaviour and the various factors that shape our thoughts and emotions. I believe that understanding the intricacies of the mind not only enriches our own lives but also empowers us to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others. Having served in United States Navy for 15 years, my transition from the battlefield to the world of psychology is a testament to my unwavering commitment to understanding and helping others navigate the complexities of the human mind.

My time in the military exposed me to a myriad of challenges, both physical and emotional. It was during these moments that I realized the profound impact psychological well-being has on an individual's ability to cope and thrive in demanding environments. The camaraderie forged in the face of adversity sparked my interest in the psychology of resilience and the ways in which individuals adapt to stress.

I witnessed firsthand the toll that prolonged deployments and high-stakes situations can take on mental health. This experience fueled my passion for pursuing a career in psychology, driven by the belief that every person, regardless of their background, deserves access to mental health support.

My military service instilled in me the values of discipline, resilience, and empathy—qualities that I now channel into my knowledge and practice as a psychologist.
