About this studio
ShiftGrit Calgary’s Mount Royal studio operates from 815 17 Avenue SW, Suite 210 — an upper-floor space tucked above Calgary’s 17th Avenue SW commercial corridor. It’s our flagship Calgary location, designed for the slow, structured clinical work the Core Method™ requires.
Our team here is one of the largest in the network — registered psychologists, registered provisional psychologists, and registered counsellors, all trained in the ShiftGrit Core Method™ within the Identity-Level Therapy orientation. The clinical framework stays consistent across the team: we target the limiting beliefs that drive automatic patterns rather than coaching surface-level behaviour change. That focus carries across modalities — couples, anger management, trauma, ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety — while the underlying method stays the same.
Same-week appointments are typically available. In-person sessions happen at the studio; virtual sessions across Alberta are offered through Jane online booking.
The Neighbourhood
Mount Royal sits between Beltline and Cliff Bungalow, anchored by Calgary’s 17th Avenue SW commercial district — the city’s busiest pedestrian strip for restaurants, galleries, and independent retail. Our studio at 815 17 Ave SW occupies a quiet upper-floor suite a short walk from Mount Royal Village, with easy LRT access at Erlton/Stampede and surface parking along 5 St SW.
FAQ
How do I book a session at the Mount Royal Studio?
Book online through our Jane portal at any time — link in the header. New clients can also use Get Matched first: answer a few questions and we’ll route you to a clinician whose training aligns with what you’re working through.
Do you offer both in-person and virtual sessions?
Yes. Every clinician at our Calgary clinic offers in-person sessions at the Mount Royal Studio. Most also offer virtual sessions over secure video for clients anywhere in Alberta — same Core Method™, same Pattern Library, same Identity-Level Therapy outcomes.
Are sessions covered by extended health insurance?
Most extended-health plans cover Registered Psychologist (R.Psych.), Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and Registered Social Worker (RSW) sessions. We provide receipts you submit to your insurer; direct-billing is available for several providers — ask at intake.
What credentials do your therapists hold?
Our Calgary team includes Registered Psychologists, CCC-credentialed counsellors, and RSW clinicians. Every clinician is trained in the ShiftGrit Core Method™ and Identity-Level Therapy protocol — so the work stays consistent no matter who you see.
How long until I can be seen?
Typical wait time for a new-client intake is 1–2 weeks. If you have a specific clinician preference, the wait may be longer; Get Matched usually finds an opening sooner.
More Calgary Therapy Guides
Life in Calgary moves fast—tight timelines, high expectations, and constant comparison. These guides explain why emotional patterns often feel louder here, how identity-level beliefs get triggered in high-demand environments, and what structured, evidence-informed therapy can actually change.
