Editorial Standards & Clinical Review Process

The ShiftGrit Clinical Editorial Team combines the insight of registered psychologists, provisional psychologists, and trained writers to create accessible, evidence-informed therapy resources. All content is clinically reviewed by Andrea R., Registered Psychologist (CAP #4007).

At ShiftGrit Psychology & Counselling, we care about clarity and accuracy when sharing information about therapy. The goal of our editorial process is to make complex psychological concepts understandable while remaining consistent with professional standards set by the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Who Creates Our Content

Our ShiftGrit Clinical Editorial Team is made up of registered psychologists, provisional psychologists, and professional writers. Together, they develop educational articles, guides, and resources that reflect the approach used in our practice—structured, transparent, and client-centred.

Clinical Review

All therapy-related content is clinically reviewed by Andrea McTague, M.A.C.P., Registered Psychologist (CAP #4007). Andrea verifies that each article aligns with current professional guidelines and accurately represents therapeutic concepts such as Pattern Theory and Reconditioning.

How We Keep Information Current

  • Articles are reviewed at least once per year for accuracy and clarity.
  • When new research or provincial guidance changes, relevant pages are updated within 60 days.
  • Every article shows a “Last Updated” date near the footer.

Our Editorial Principles

  • Transparency: We explain our methodology and the reasoning behind each concept we discuss.
  • Clarity: Content is written in accessible language, free from clinical jargon whenever possible.
  • Balance: We describe therapeutic ideas without claiming superiority over other approaches.
  • Accountability: Any factual corrections or updates are logged internally and timestamped.
