You have two minds that shape every moment: the one that thinks and the one that reacts. When something triggers old fear or shame, your reactive mind jumps in first — just like how you’d flinch at a spider before realizing it’s harmless. The ShiftGrit approach helps you retrain that automatic system so your reactions finally line up with what you know to be true — calm, confident, and in control.
Licensed Ontario (on) clinicians available for virtual sessions. Start with a clear plan, practical tools, and sessions focused on what matters to you.
Our clinicians hold credentials recognized by the major licensing and professional bodies serving Ontario (on) and across Canada.

Regulated and affiliated across Canada's leading psychology, counselling, and mental-health organizations.
Identity-Level Therapy targets the belief patterns and emotional loops driving automatic reactions—not just the surface symptoms. By working at the identity layer, clients shift how they interpret safety, regulate threat, and relate to themselves and others. The result: reconditioning at the root of shame, self-sabotage, reactivity, and overwhelm.
It’s organized around three pillars:

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a response that occurs when the brain and body remain “stuck” in survival mode after a traumatic or highly stressful event. Common symptoms include intrusive memories, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, nightmares, and difficulty relaxing or trusting others. At ShiftGrit, we help you understand why these reactions happen and teach you how to safely retrain your mind and nervous system to feel calm, present, and in control again.
Our structured process combines education, awareness, and guided reconditioning. Using Pattern Theory™, we explain how trauma shapes the brain’s threat system and creates limiting beliefs like “I’m not safe” or “It’s my fault.” Through Reconditioning, we use imaginal exposure and emotional retraining to gradually desensitize the brain’s response to trauma triggers. This helps reduce reactivity while building self-understanding, calm, and confidence.
Yes. Traditional therapy often focuses on talking about the trauma, which can feel overwhelming or reactivating. Our model is more structured and educational. We first help you understand why trauma reactions persist and teach emotional regulation before doing deeper reprocessing work. You’re always informed, in control, and supported — never pushed into unsafe territory.
Yes. Even when trauma is layered or occurred long ago, the emotional and neurological patterns can still be retrained. Because our approach targets the brain’s threat and belief systems, it helps reduce hypervigilance, shame, and emotional volatility over time. We work gradually and collaboratively to ensure safety and sustainable progress — not quick fixes.
Yes. We offer in-person PTSD therapy in Ontario (on) and secure virtual sessions across Ontario (on). Both formats follow the same structured, transparent model so you’ll always know what to expect, how each session works, and how therapy is helping you progress toward emotional regulation and stability.
