Finding fears / phobias support in Ontario (on) doesn’t have to feel like guesswork.
On this page you’ll see licensed clinicians available for in-person or virtual sessions in Ontario (on).
We outline the plan up front, teach the “why”, and keep sessions focused on specific changes that matter to you.
You have two minds that shape every moment: the one that thinks and the one that reacts. When something triggers old fear or shame, your reactive mind jumps in first — just like how you’d flinch at a spider before realizing it’s harmless. The ShiftGrit approach helps you retrain that automatic system so your reactions finally line up with what you know to be true — calm, confident, and in control.
Licensed Ontario (on) clinicians available for virtual sessions. Start with a clear plan, practical tools, and sessions focused on what matters to you.
Our clinicians hold credentials recognized by the major licensing and professional bodies serving Ontario (on) and across Canada.

Regulated and affiliated across Canada's leading psychology, counselling, and mental-health organizations.
Identity-Level Therapy targets the belief patterns and emotional loops driving automatic reactions—not just the surface symptoms. By working at the identity layer, clients shift how they interpret safety, regulate threat, and relate to themselves and others. The result: reconditioning at the root of shame, self-sabotage, reactivity, and overwhelm.
It’s organized around three pillars:

When you feel unworthy, nothing ever feels earned. This belief fuels overfunctioning, self-neglect, and guilt around rest, care, or success. It can be rewired.

Fears and phobias form when the brain learns to associate a specific object, situation, or experience with danger — even when there’s no real threat. Over time, the brain’s “threat system” becomes overactive, triggering intense anxiety or avoidance. At ShiftGrit, we help you understand why these reactions happen and retrain your brain to respond calmly, safely, and logically to the things that currently feel overwhelming.
Our therapy combines education, structure, and gentle exposure work. Using Pattern Theory™, we identify the belief or experience that originally linked fear to the trigger — such as “I’m not safe” or “I have no control.” Then, through our Reconditioning process, we use guided imaginal exposure to help the brain unlearn that false threat association. Over time, the fear response weakens and confidence takes its place.
No — not right away. We use a gradual, guided process that starts with education and internal reconditioning before introducing any form of exposure. This ensures that your nervous system feels safe and supported throughout. You’ll never be asked to do something that feels overwhelming; instead, you’ll build control step by step until your fear response naturally subsides.
Yes. Whether your fear is broad (like social anxiety) or specific (like flying, driving, or public speaking), the underlying mechanism is the same — your brain is reacting to a perceived threat. By changing that learned association, we can significantly reduce the emotional intensity. Many clients find that everyday situations become manageable again — often faster than they expected once the right structure is in place.
Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual sessions for fears and phobias in Ontario (on) and throughout Ontario (on). Both options follow the same transparent, structured process, ensuring consistency and safety at every step of your therapy journey.
